15 Advisors took part in the half day training which gave them a greater knowledge of the sector, the skills needed within industry and the jobs in the market place.

 CREST is a new programme funded through the European Development Fund involving English and French partners with a shared interest in promoting energy efficiency.   Central to this programme is the development and use of tools and resources to understand how people use space in educational settings.  The results will be used to deepen understanding of human behaviour in relation to energy use with the aim of changing behaviour and influencing future building use and building design.   In addition French and English project members will use the results to engage education providers and community groups.  The aim of this community strand is to promote greater energy efficiencies, reduce energy costs and to raise interest in and awareness of routes into “green” careers.

15 local people from different career backgrounds came together to take part in the training to become qualified Green Deal Assessors.

The role of a Green Deal Assessor will be to carry out a qualifying assessment of a property and produce a Green Deal Advice report, for people wishing to access Green Deal finance for the installation of energy – efficiency measures at their property.
